“The following is a synopsis of my 50-page poetry collection Cadences. There is usually licence or liberty in all poetry-writing. Along with line-length, they represent the difference between poetry and prose. I have made a few poetic innovations as in the poem titled ‘Some tercets’, which is pleasant to read and I have developed the terza rima as in ‘The birds desire to settle while dusk fades’. Then I have fished out the palinode and worked on it. I have also tried my hand at the sonnet. All fourteen-liners are attractive. To make Cadences interesting, I have included tales like ‘A Tale of Solomon and Sheba’. I’ll leave you to figure out the story of The Reedman and poetry as a vehicle for its composition. There are no summaries of stories here; anyway, they are not overlong. These poems are always good for poetry-reading – in the classroom and elsewhere."
