Dr. Bobby George
There are diverse set of Acts, guidelines and policies directly or indirectly related to healthcare which regulate this sector and these have to work in tandem like a well-oiled machine. Many Acts though enacted, largely remain in a way unenforced due to the indifference and general apathy of the healthcare fraternity and the drug industry which refuses to be cowed down by legislations. There has been an erosion of social values and the dominance of anti-social, unethical market forces in the field of health sciences. Through this book, have tried to highlight the shortcomings in some of the healthcare related Acts and the unhealthy acts of stakeholders within the related field who have been exploiting on the loopholes for their vested interests. Attempts have been made to draw comparison between the Acts prevailing in the developed societies and in India so that our industry and regulatory agency can imbibe the best for the needs of the nation.
