Podcast on How to Set the Right Mindset to Change Your Life

Episode 1: Introduction

Hello everyone, this is Yash. A hearty welcome to my podcast – Setting up the Right Mindset to Change Your Life; where I will be talking about powerful mental tools that you can use to bring lasting change in your life.

Before we start, I want to thank you for joining me on this five day podcast. Even though I do not know you personally, I respect and care for you, and hope that with the help of this podcast, we can together bring the change you desire in your personal and professional life.

The purpose of this program is to tap into the enormous power that lies within you and channel them into positive habits that will ultimately lead you to achieve your goals. I have been using these tools for more than three years now, and it has changed my life in more ways than I can imagine.

For 2 decades, my life was really crazy. I did not know what I was doing or why. I was depressed, broke and alone. It was terrible. However, using these mental tools, I was able to change my life around. The journey of change was not at all easy; I kept going back to my old self. But just by changing my mindset and conditioning my brain to into developing new, positive habits, I was able to make this fascinating change.

So then, you and I are going to begin a journey into the human mindset. If you feel stuck in some impossible life situation where you can’t see a ray of hope and nothing has worked out for you for years or decades, if you cannot stop thinking about the past, or want to build your confidence, these tools are just for you.

Think about the different types of people in the world – some are successful and happy while some never improve even if they want to, or there are people who do not want to change at all. The one thing common to them all is that they follow a certain mindset. Now what do I mean by ‘mindset’? It means when your mind, emotions and your body are in balance to do anything you want.

The same way our body cannot stop breathing, our mind also doesn’t stop thinking. Most of our thoughts are repetitive and unproductive. But if you can train your mind to think only productive thoughts, imagine how your life could change.

Let me explain with an example. Suppose you are writing an email to your boss. However you are thinking about why you are working such long hours or that you are hungry. You are feeling bored and frustrated, your body posture is not erect and you are not attentive to the job you are doing. The end result will be that your email will not be up to the mark. Somewhere things will go wrong and you will regret it, even though you will have no idea why things went wrong. With this mindset, the same thing will occur in other aspects of life, and this will generate a never ending loop of regrets and negativity. Like Gandhi ji said, it is your thoughts that determine what you become.

However, there is a simple method to change this mindset, and that is observing what your thoughts are and where your focus is. To change your mindset, you have to first become conscious of what your thoughts and feelings are. Once you observe them, you will realize where your negativity comes from, and you will focus on changing them.

We spend all our time and energy on the object of our focus. Most people focus on things they don’t have rather than how they can have them. We compare ourselves to our colleagues or friends and look for love and happiness outside our own selves without understanding how these things come from within.

Therefore, if you observe the negative thoughts and feelings you have in life and understand how they make you feel even worse, your body, mind and emotions will become more balanced and in control. We will continue in the next session how to challenge these limiting beliefs and turn your life around by yourself.

Thank you.
