Genre: Poetry, Pages: 52, binding: paperback
Desert Child is the author’s first attempt in experimenting with common day themes. Diaspora, exile, uprootment, poverty, isolation, injustice are just some of the themes that catch the author’s attention. The bare truth is that these issues have transgressed from mere silence of the past to an echoing, unavoidable but painful reality of our present day. The poems have evolved from a mood of naive innocence, emotional rawness but ultimately plays as a pointer to what cripples the society. It does its best in instigating the basic question of whether the reader desires change or just simply let things be as they are.
