Rachel is one among the thousands of girls who move to Chennai city each year to pursue their academic dreams. Rachel looks forward to an exciting and fun-filled hostel life, but is disappointed by the shocking reality she is faced with. Confused and afraid, she gradually allows herself to depend on and be influenced by her college senior and hostel roommate, Deepika, who helps Rachel to hook up with a guy, Manoj, whom she feels helplessly attracted to, and also get a part-time job. Rachel discovers that Deepika and her friends seek refuge in alcohol to evade the pressures of reality and to indulge in unbounded pleasure. Rachel is eventually drawn into the habit by temptation and peer pressure, and she consciously witnesses the horrifying effects of the alcohol-dependent lifestyle. In the face of tragedy, Rachel helps Deepika realize their dreadful mistakes. Together, they decide to refrain from self-harming pleasure and make up for the past. But then, it is too late.
