1. Congratulations on your debut novel! What inspired you to write When He Touched My Soul, and what was the moment you knew this story needed to be shared with the world?
Preet Ruhani: Thank you so much.
When He Touched My Soul wasn’t born from a single moment—it was born from years of silently observing love, pain, sacrifice, and the emotions people often hide behind a smile. I wanted to write a story that goes beyond romance and explores the kind of connection that touches a person’s soul and changes them forever.
The moment I knew this story had to be shared was when I realized that many people have experienced a love they could never fully explain—one that teaches, transforms, and stays with them regardless of time or distance. Those emotions deserve a voice.
This novel is my attempt to remind readers that true love is not always about being together. Sometimes it is about respect, growth, keeping promises, and carrying someone’s goodness within you for a lifetime. If even one reader closes this book feeling more hopeful, more understood, or more connected to their own heart, then I believe this story has fulfilled its purpose.
2. Your book speaks beautifully about soul connections that transcend time, distance, and circumstances. What does a “soul connection” personally mean to you?
Preet Ruhani:
To me, a soul connection is something that cannot be measured by time, distance, or even relationships. It is a bond that reaches far beyond words—a connection that quietly transforms who you are.
A soul connection doesn’t necessarily mean two people are destined to spend their lives together. Sometimes its purpose is to awaken you, help you grow, teach you unconditional love, or remind you of the person you are meant to become. It changes the way you see yourself and the world.
I believe true soul connections are built on respect, trust, and silent understanding rather than possession. They don’t demand; they inspire. They don’t fade with distance because they live within you, not around you.
That is the heart of When He Touched My Soul. It is not simply a love story—it is a journey of discovering that the deepest connections are the ones that touch your soul, leave you transformed, and stay with you long after life has changed.
3. The novel explores themes of unconditional love, faith, healing, and transformation. Which of these themes resonates with you the most, and why?
Preet Ruhani:
The theme that resonates with me most is healing. Healing is deeply human—it acknowledges pain, but it also makes room for hope, growth, and renewal. What I love about healing is that it is rarely instant; it is often quiet, gradual, and deeply personal. It asks us to face what has hurt us and still believe that wholeness is possible.
In When He Touched My Soul, healing feels especially powerful because it is tied to love and faith. The story suggests that real transformation begins when someone feels seen, valued, and safe enough to open their heart again. That idea is moving to me because it reflects how healing often happens through connection, compassion, and grace.
4. As this is your first novel, what was the biggest challenge you faced during the writing journey, and what kept you motivated to complete it?
Preet Ruhani:
The biggest challenge was giving shape to emotions that are often difficult to express in words. I wanted every chapter to feel genuine and emotionally honest, so I spent a lot of time reflecting, rewriting, and refining the story.
What kept me motivated was the belief that if this book could make even one reader feel understood, heal a little, or look at love differently, then every challenge would be worth it. That thought stayed with me from the first page to the last.
5. Many readers may wonder whether the emotions and experiences in the book are inspired by real life. How much of the story reflects your personal beliefs or experiences?
Preet Ruhani:
Every writer leaves a part of themselves in their work, and I’m no exception. While When He Touched My Soul is a work of fiction, many of the emotions, values, and reflections come from my own beliefs about love, healing, relationships, and human connections.
Rather than asking how much of the story is real, I hope readers connect with how true the emotions feel. That’s what matters most to me.
6. Your writing suggests that some relationships exist for a greater purpose beyond romance. What message do you hope readers take away about love and human connections after finishing the book?
Preet Ruhani:
I hope readers finish this book with a broader understanding of love. Not every meaningful relationship is meant to have a romantic ending, yet it can still leave the deepest impact on our lives.
If this story encourages someone to value people more, judge less, forgive more easily, and appreciate the unseen bonds that shape us, then I will feel that the book has achieved its purpose.
7. In today’s fast-paced world, where relationships often face many challenges, how do you think genuine love and faith can help people build stronger emotional bonds?
Preet Ruhani:
I believe the world doesn’t need more perfect relationships—it needs more genuine hearts. Love has the power to heal, faith gives us the courage to keep believing, and together they remind us that every act of kindness, understanding, and compassion leaves a lasting mark on someone’s life.
If we learn to love with sincerity rather than expectations, and choose empathy over ego, our relationships won’t just become stronger—they’ll become meaningful. In the end, the greatest connections are not the ones we hold onto, but the ones that help us become better human beings.
8. If readers could remember just one lesson from When He Touched My Soul, what would you want that lesson to be?
Preet Ruhani:
If readers remember just one lesson from When He Touched My Soul, I hope it’s this: true love begins with learning how to love, not just with the desire to be loved.
Today, many people are searching for love, but in the rush of modern life, we sometimes forget what love truly means. Love is not only about finding the right person—it’s about becoming the right person. It is built on respect, patience, trust, and selfless care.
True love is greater than society, distance, or circumstances. And when someone genuinely loves you, they don’t just make you happy—they help you discover the best version of yourself.
That is the lesson I hope every reader carries after turning the last page.
9. How has writing this novel changed you personally, and has it transformed your own understanding of love, faith, or soul connections?
Preet Ruhani:
For me, writing about love without truly understanding it would have been impossible. I believe readers can always tell the difference between words that are imagined and words that come from the heart.
The transformation happened within me before I ever wrote the first chapter. That’s why the emotions in this book flowed naturally. I wasn’t trying to create love on paper—I was trying to give words to something I had already understood.
I believe we all encounter at least one person who changes the way we see love, life, or ourselves. Whether we recognize that connection or not is up to us. This novel is simply my reflection of that truth.
10. With the publication of When He Touched My Soul in July 2026, what are your hopes for your readers, and can you share whether you’re already working on your next writing project?
Preet Ruhani:
My biggest hope is that readers don’t just finish When He Touched My Soul—they carry its message with them.
The reason I wrote When He Touched My Soul came from a question that stayed with me for a long time: Have we really understood what love is? If this book inspires even one person to reflect on that question and understand love in a deeper, kinder, and more meaningful way, I will feel that my purpose has been fulfilled.
As for my next project, yes, I do have ideas in my heart. But I believe every story has its own time, and I don’t want to rush the next one. Right now, I’m looking forward to connecting with my readers and letting the next story find me naturally.
